Recap: Wednesday's Apple Keynote Presentation

On Wednesday, Apple had a keynote presentation mostly focused on music, along with a new Apple TV that will be released. They presented a new design of iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, Apple TV, iTunes 10, an iTunes social network called "Ping", and a new wireless streaming feature on iOS4 called Airplay.

iPod Touch:
iPhone's Retina Display, a 3.5-inch IPS-based that has a razor-sharp 326ppi resolution.
• Record 720p high definition video and take photos with its back camera.
FaceTime with other iPod touches and iPhone 4s, using its front camera.
• Runs the same speed of the iPhone 4, using the same Apple A4 chip.







iPod Nano:

• Tiny, 1.54" touchscreen iPod Nano is 46%
smaller and 42% lighter than its predecessor, and scarcely larger than the new iPod Shuffle.
• Hard volume buttons, Voiceover (with 29 languages), FM radio, NIke+ support, and a pedometer
• 24 hour battery life
• A clipto attach it right to your clothes
• It comes in the same four colors as the new Shuffle, as well as graphite red and a Global Fund-sponsored red.
• $149 for 8GB
• $179 for the 16GB version.



iPod Shuffle:

• It supports Genius mixes, playlists, and VoiceOver
• It comes in blue, pink, black, green and yellow
• It's good for 15 hours of battery life
• It's got 2GB of storage
• It costs $50
• You can clip it to your clothes for working out





Apple TV:

• Built-in power supply
• HDMI capable
• Ethernet and 802.11n wireless connectivity
• Stream rental movies directly from iTunes
• Offering $0.99 rentals from ABC and Fox
• Full Netflix streaming support
• First-run movies available in HD (720p only) for $4.99 the same day they're released on DVD
• Rotten Tomatoes scores on movies
• $99 rather than previously sold for $299
• 1/4 size of previous model
