NFL Week 9/ NCAA Week 10 Bets

I apologize to everyone for the lack of posts over the past few weeks, I have been basking in the glory of my best bet in quite a while and neglected my duties to you all. A $500 bet on UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez to beat Brock Lesnar before a decision at 2:1 odds will make you gloat for a few weeks.

So I decided I would add some college games this week.
Here are my week 10 NCAA bets followed by week 9 NFL bets.

NCAA Week 10

Virginia +1 @ Duke
Michigan -3 vs. Illinois
Arizona State +5.5 @USC

NFL Week 9

Bills +3 vs. Bears (Neutral site in Toronto)
Texans +3 vs. Chargers
Colts +3 @ Eagles
Saints -6.5 @ Panthers
Patriots -5 @ Browns

  1. I would stick to the NFL big guy, ASU is god awful, trojans roll by dub diggies... also did you watch the UVA game last week? How could you ever bet on a team that shitty, yes I know duke is bad too but you might as well flip a rusty coin on that one. Patriots is a good call though ill give you that.

  2. I wouldn't say ASU is god awful... played the #1 team in the nation to their toughest game all year, and were a blocked XP away from beating Wisconsin in Madison. This is a down USC team.. i guess we'll see.. Ummmm didn't UVA beat MIami last week???

  3. Fading the U sounds like a better play due to the fact that they allowed a porous UVA secondary to pick them 5 times, (albeit 4 of the picks were off of backups after harris was injured)

  4. Cal rolled ASU by 30+, ROJO will get three tuddys, barkley will take out much needed anger, dont let two good quarters against UO and a solid road effort against a slow big ten squad sell you on the devils.

  5. So if we're gonna apply your theory of comparable games, ASU beat UW in Seattle, and USC lost to UW in the Coliseum, so that means...... EXACTLY

As far as UVA is concerned... how does beating Miami, translate into them being a shitty team haha i don't care if fucking Vinny Testeaverde suited up now and played QB at 50.. it's still a legitimate victory

  6. No comparable game theory here buddy we all know that shit makes no sense...Its simple logic. USC has beaten ASU the past 11 times they have played. The reason why USC beats ASU is because they have better players. Both teams recruit from the same pool and USC has first pick and ASU takes the scraps. Heres the twist - USC lost several recruits for obvious reasons. The good news for them is ASU is about to run ericson out of town and USC still starts a five star at every position while ASU features mostly two and three stars. Lack of motivation for USC? maybe, but ill take them at home with ANY day at -5.5.
UVA is a horrible team. They booed there qb off the field a week before the miami game. Jacory Harris is the lifeblood of the the U, without him they are nothing. But hey, the oddsmakers are smart and there is a reason why a team that just beat a top 25 team is a one point favorite against the worst team in the FBS. They know people like yourself who simply look at the boxscores on ESPN will lay money on a trendy team like UVA ALL day without realizing the game is a toss up. TRAP, you took the bait.

  7. I do like the blog though! maybe I should take this column over after USC and UVA both go down? deal?

  8. meant to say ASU!oooops

  9. Just boxscores?? Ha 1 you have no idea, 2 what level of football did you play, pop warner? For both games, you understand that these are 18-22 year old kids. These are not pros, so the ins and out of each game effects them greatly. A team like UVA is a program in a transition with a new coach, if you underestimate the effect that a win over Miami had then you don't understand the psychi of these kids. That win proved to them that buying into the system is finally paying off. Did you not see the emotion of the team after the game?

As far as USC is concerned, you are 100% correct they have better talent than ASU (I won't mention the hundreds of thousands they threw at kids). Their players have run shit their entire lives and are not used to losing. Back to the psychi thing, how many of the players on USC experienced losing? Probably not many. I don't care what people told them to expect this year a BLOWOUT loss to Oregon messed them up. Now I can't predict the future, I'm just picking this bet off of my opinion. As far as ASU is concerned, they know they are playing to keep their coach, if you don't think they know what a win over USC means for DE, than I have wasted my time talking to you.

That is what I make my picks off, obviously boxscores.

  10. Haha, Pop Warner? Come on now no need to take low blows because your picks lack merit. The fact of the matter is there are dozens of games on the board every saturday and 2 of the 3 games you have endorsed are questionale at best. UVA is NOT a good team. They can lose any given saturday to any team in college football, as evidenced by their record and history of laying eggs on a regular basis. Now, given this information, how can it be considered an informed play to take them on the road against anyone? Hence, the one point spread despite a win against a top 25 team. Now on to ASU, a team that has lost 11 straight games to USC. Your honestly telling me that betting on them to snap that streak is a good play? I dont care what emotion/motivation there may be. They are an inferior football team going on the road to play against the most talented team in the country and they are only getting 5.5 points? Sounds like a great play to me... Im real sure that this game will be the turning point where the ASU players finally decide to win one for the coach!

  11. We might have a SC HOMER ALERT!! You just called USC and I quote "the most talented team in the country" C'Mon MAN!! After Oregon just came into the Coliseum and smacked the shit out of you. After Washington, the third worst team in the PAC beat you at home. Your 2 and 3 in the conference but your the most talented team in the country huh? Ok well that validates all of your previous arguments in the fact that someone has a SERIOUS bias.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Theres a difference between talent and winning and losing games you moron. Go look at any website related to recruiting and USC will have the most five star recruits on any of them. Do you even know what a five star recruit is? Probably NOT because anyone with the slightest idea knows that USC gets the most TALENTED players each and every year. NO bias here at all, in fact I dont even like USC, but I respect the fact that they are superior when it comes to recruiting, which in turn equals having talent. Take a poll asking what team is the most talented team in the country (not the best) and I gaurentee over 90% say USC.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Moron? Fuck off. I never called you anything but a HOMER, calm down. Do I know what a five star recruit is? uhmmm is it a five star recruit? That was a dumb question amigo. I know the difference between the "best" and most talented and I can safely say USC is neither, and I promise you 90% of people would NOT agree USC is the most talented team in the Country, I bet not even 90% of people who live in LA would even say that.. And according to your Logic of 5 star recruits USC wouldn't know what they are either because they only had 2 commit to the program for 2010 and ZERO so far for 2011.. so I dont know what your getting at.

  14. Sorry to interupt this HEATED battle lol but how about taking Arizona +8 @ Stanford? I may be a homer but you gotta think this game will be closer than a Stanford two score victory.. Nick Foles returning and Arizona's top 10 defense in FBS. Although Luck is a dirty man and something is going to have to give in this game. I think the first quarter is gonna be huge in this game. Arizona has to come out hot or else Stanford might be able to ride the momentum of the amped up crowd on national TV. Also, if 'Anonymous' is way off in their predictions I would think you should come out with who you are. OR if you are right-on with your picks you can ride the glory by revealing yourself....

  15. five star recruit - is a cant miss future NFL prospect. You may be correct that USC has zero recruits five star recruits for 2011 because they are NOT bowl eligible so who would want to go there NEXT year. USC ended up with only 2 five star recruits in 2010 because close to 20 recruits defected due to NCAA sanctions. The fact of the matter is, 2011 recruits cant play this year anyways as they are still in highschool. The 2010 recruits are freshman so they would be unlikely to start. The Sophmores, Jrs, and Srs of the team are comprised of ALL five stars. Without looking at any references I would guess they have close to 30 of them.

Check out the UVA score by the way... Duke went up 21-0 on them early and are still up 21-14, clearly UVA is NOT a good team to bet on when they are losing to the worst team in divison 1 FBS.

AS to your question regarding UofA tonight against Stanford: I really like both teams this year. I was personally at the game last year at UofA when they snuck out a 43-38 win. This year I think Stanford simply has too much offense for the cats to handle on the ROAD. Yes 8 points is alot, but the way Stanford can light up the scoreboard, I can easily see this game ending up something like 42-28 in favor of Stanford. I would stay away.

Lastly, why would I reveal myself? My reasoning has already proved to be correct as evidenced by duke scoring 21 points on UVA in the first quarter alone. That clearly was NOT a smart pick No matter the outcome of the game. Like I said, the game IS A TOSSUP.

  16. AMERICA>UofA.... i don't care if they win the PAC-10 it will never be credible because they are a Mexican university

  17. YOU DUMBASS... THE GAME IS 48 MINUTES!!! IT'S 24-21!!! STOP BEING ELEMENTARY AND ARGUING JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUING

    ReplyDelete
  18. haha your picks are elementary, like i said, you took the obvious chump pick... Oh theres a team that just beat a top 25 team and now they play duke! Im on that shit ALL day. The onyl problem is you didnt watch the UVA game against the U. UVA is fuckin horrible there gettin there shit pushed in by duke. AS of now there is a 99% chance you are 0-2 on the day. Like I said go back to the NFL, oh wait, judgin by the last time you posted your NFL picks I would simply stop posting any picks and LET me take over. Your a foolish man degenerate, I truly hope you dont actually put real money on these games.

  19. and thats where you got your ASU pick from... we got a sun devil here! Haha i bet you think steven threet is the truth, vontaze burfict is the best LB in college football and Dennis ericson is a fuckin maastermind...Too bad this will be the second year in a row you miss a bowl game. UA had 6 wins after 7 games, and will decimate ASU this season. take ur blinders off buddy

  20. 0-2. anonymous 1, degenerate 0. that is all!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. HOW DO YOU SEE 0-2??? Yes UVA ended up failing me at the end of the game, so congrats there, but I'm pretty sure last time I checked my math, a 1 point game meant that ASU covered the 5.5 pt. spread. I'm pretty sure I was told by Mr. Anonymous that ASU was going to get waxed by "Dub Diggies". I could be wrong but ASU 2 missed special teams plays away from winning the game?? Now I understand that the game is 3 facets, but you can't sit here with a straight face and honestly believe USC was better than ASU on that night. Looks like you, your tank top and your surfboard need to go hit the swell brah, because this message board is not the place for you... ROASTED

    ReplyDelete
  22. i wrote 0-2 because you lost the first two games, Michigan didnt cover the spread and UVA lost to the worst team in the FBS. Congrats on your asu +5.5 spread. yes, they were down by 14 points the whole game but both teams proved they cant stop anyone and cannot be trusted. You finished 1-2 on the day and judging by your posts, the fact that ASU lost probably matters more to you than anything. HAPPY SLEDDING AGAINST stanford tonight, let me know how andrew luck' ass tastes you faggot!
