Every Thursday throughout the year, I am going to give you guys my picks for the weekend. Since the games start on a Thursday this week, Wednesday it is.
LOCKS
Green Bay -3 @ Phi- Kevin Kolb's first game as full-time starter, at home in front of a crowd who will boo him like Hitler at the first sign of trouble. Oh yeah, the Packers D Lead the NFL in takeaways last year. I think the Packers win this game by double digits. Tease the line if your feeling risky.
San Francisco -3 @ Seattle- The 49ers are the class of the NFC West, and I have a hard time seeing the 49ers drop any division game other than @ Arizona this year. With a no nonsense coach like Mike Singletary, you know they will be ready to go out the gate.
Miami -3 @ Buffalo- Buffalo may have had 1 advantage in this game, but that ended when they were scheduled Miami at home in September and not December. The weather Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium will be 70 degrees and sunny, this sounds like the perfect occasion for Chad Henne to work out his arm with new star WR Brandon Marshall. I am excited to watch CJ Spiller play, but I don't see him effecting the outcome of this game
New York Jets -2.5 vs. Baltimore- People are going to think that I am crazy for this, and I am being biased, but I think this is a logical pick. Raven All-World S Ed Reed is OUT until about week 7, and top DB Dominque Foxworth is lost for the year as well. The Jets have looked shaky in the preseason, but in the last 6 years, the Jets are 4-2, winning by at least 6 in their first game against anyone not named the Patriots. The signing of Darrelle Revis has reignited this team, and players on Tuesday were saying Super Bowl or Bust!
