US National Team Conspiracy...Continued

Notice anything weird about this picture? Maybe not to the naked eye, but as you can see Dwight Howard is the only one doing a different pose. Why you ask? Well he had to be next to Coach K because Coach K's leg needed to be there to cover up Dwights Adidas shoes. Why is the ball there you ask? Well it needed to be there so his hand could drape over the Nike sign on his shorts. Weird right?

Earlier I touched on the premise that Brandon Jennings was excluded from the Select Team because he is represented by Under Armour, and in Brandon's words " Nike sort of runs things over there". I didnt think any thing of it but then Yahoo Columnist Adrian Wojnarowski had some interesting tweets earlier today.

"Under Colangelo, USAB runs up incredible operating expenses -- 5-star resort hotels, etc. -- and Nike is Sugar Daddy paying a lot of bills."

"To suggest Nike doesn't have a huge influence in tryout invites and roster selection is insult to intelligence. USA has a Nike coach too."

"Not saying Brandon Jennings shoes kept him off team. Not yet, anyway. But Jennings would have to be FAR better than a Nike player in future."

"After speaking out, Jennings can forget ever playing for Team USA. That's the shame of it. But he raised important point. Glad he did it."

Now I went on the record saying that PG is our deepest position for the Select Team and we have plenty of guards and maybe Brandon isnt there yet, but he definitely deserved a invite for tryouts in my opinion, and honestly I think he would have performed well. He is going to be an elite player.

I dont always agree with all things Wojnarowski has to say, but when it comes to the NBA he is usually dead on. I dont really think there is a conspiracy but we know Nike would rather keep thier players in the mix. Trust me if Lebron, KD, Wade,or Kobe were sponsored by Adidas they would still be on the team because they are too talented not to be there, but for middle of the pack guys and deeper bench guys im sure there is some foul play involved.. What do you guys think?
