RIM PlayBook...The Blackberry tablet

Earlier this week, RIM (Research In Motion) debuted the newest 'touch tablet' to hit the market. The device is called the PlayBook. The tablet is sized up at 7 inches, 0.9 pounds with a 1024 x 600 multitouch display. It contains a Cortex A9-based dual-core 1GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM, which they claim will make it the fastest tablet available. There will also be a 3 megapixel front facing camera along with a 5 megapixel rear facing camera. This will allow for video conferencing. Although there is no official word on storage size, it is rumored that it will come in two size, 16GB and 32GB. The capabilities and features that most other tablets currently do not have are a 1080p HD display, a HDMI port, a microUSB jack, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1 slots. The operating system will look very similar to the currently
BlackBerry OS and will allow multitasking. Some great features for current Blackberry owners is that it will allow pairing between the devices including Email, calendar, tasks, documents, BlackBerry security, data efficiency, and EVEN BBM!! Is the Playbook going to compare to the Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy or Dell Streak? I guess only time will tell!
